Why shop with us?
Join several (well two or three) other eccentric shoppers willing to face up to the unique food shopping experience at Joleen Meadows.
Discover potatoes and other vegetables with dirt still on them. Buy real foods without microwave instructions and spend hours on the internet researching how to cook them. Save money by buying exactly the number of carrots, parsnips, mushrooms etc that you require rather then being forced into buying a bulk bag. Save money by bringing your detergent bottles in for refill and buying cereals and nuts from our bulk dispensers rather than paying for the packaging. Buy 2lbs of organic potatoes instead of a bag of oven chips and learn how you can peel them and make your own chips much cheaper. Eat food that tastes so good you’ll never want another take away again.
Join the organic revolution and buy foods that haven’t been sprayed with insecticides, or genetically modified to produce BT Toxin, or covered in preservatives to prolong their shelf life and then treated with artificial flavour enhancers to mask the fact that it has lost its flavour. Buy freshly picked vegetables that haven’t been sealed for ages in gas filled bags that turn limp within hours of opening the packet. Of course the downside is that you may have to wash soil off some of them or even the odd bug that is your natural competitor for real food (they are not stupid these bugs)
We looking forward to welcoming you to a new way of shopping, a way which actually looks very similar to an old way of shopping.
See you soon

Hello,
We have just discovered you and were wondering if it would be ok to visit your shop on Saturday on our way back from Llandudno? Are you open till 4:30?
I am also fascinated by everything you are doing! Especially the food forest! Would love to talk about it if at all possible! Also do you have a café too or just the shop? Do you have organic fruit and veg?
Many thanks!
Sophie
Hi Sophie
We open on Saturdays from 10 til 4pm. However, we live in the bungalow next door and the bell on the shop will bring one of us over to serve you whenever you turn up. No cafe but we can always have our arm twisted to serve tea in the house. We love to drink tea and chat about all of our mad projects!
Paul
